Crushed By Love

Hello and Welcome!

My name is Bonnie Mackenzie-Smith. I’m a writer. I’m also a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and cousin to thousands (thanks to Ancestry.com for pointing this out). I’ve had careers from flight attendant to business owner and now as a full-time writer, enjoying life near the Rocky Mountains’ foothills.

I’m an eagle enthusiast (the kind that flies), adore my family and my crazy Yellow Lab, Charlie.

I love to travel, particularly to my beloved Scotland, where I have a wee bit of ancestral DNA wandering about. I took the above picture of the beautiful Scottish Highlands during my recent travels to my ancestral homeland. I’m a born and bred American, but Scotland has stolen my heart.

My grandfather, the son of a Mackenzie-born Scot, was a newspaper writer and editor, and from him was launched a family of writers—lovers of words, all. I’m happy to have joined their ranks.

Writing has always been percolating throughout the years. You know how it goes: life can sometimes get in the way of our dreams. Retired now, I have the opportunity of getting back on that Highway of Dreams, writing my stories, and adding poetry – new to my writing adventures. I’ve been told there’s a novel in me yet to be written. We’ll see how that goes!

I hope you enjoy these stories and poems of hope; I write them for you as much as for me.

Please feel free to share your comments and connect with me on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. I’d love to hear from you.
